I found similar gear like this, but penfishingrods.com pen rod Goliath, Extreme, PaulyPro or Backpacker is bigger & stronger than any pen rods in the world, just look at the measurements the other companies are advertising before you compare or buy. They carry 11 different reels, 4 different size pen fishing rods. They also offer an extra backup spool, an extra drag dial & footing expanders that will allow me to put the FDAA reel on a larger pen rod like the Backpacker, or a regular standard sized rod & reel seats. I like the fact that the CEO negotiates with loyal long time customers. I have been a customer since 2001 & he hooked me up many times with a free rod, a mini tackle box, a lure & even offered me a sponsorship to earn free gear. If you try to be cheap with him & ask for anything free when you first become a customer, he will not even answer you. lol They also have a http://facebook.com/penfishingrod page for customers to submit pictures to regardless if the fish is 1lb or 35lbs. I have many pictures on there now. :)

Just a quick thanks. Just received my new Goliath™ FD100 AA. My son and I have been using the Goliath MX 15AA since 2011 and still enjoying them. When I saw the new Goliath™ FD100 AA, I ordered two of them. Now when we go fishing we have a backup as they are so compact and easy to store. We are primarily catch and release (outside of two for dinner) and I can tell you that if you want to experience what the sport of fishing should be, buy one. Hook into a one pounder and it feels like a five pounder. You have to play them, not just reel them in. That is the true definition of sport fishing. The thrill of the catch. The reason we have never had a problem is simple. Keep the drag low, just enough to let the reel do the work, coupled up with a little patience. Believe me when I say, you will not be disappointed. :)

grate combo for the small fishes

I ordered a Goliath/FD100AA combo from Italy. The rod had a problem, the first line guide become unglued a few days after the arrival. I sent an e-mail to Antony, and Penfishingrods sent me some spare rings/inserts, without fee (from USA to Italy). Great customer care, they are really a trustworthy company.
It's a nice combo for very ultralight spinning, I think I will buy some other combos as gift to other anglers relatives.
The FD100 All Aluminium reel is a very nice miniature reel, I'm glad I did not bought the cheaper plastic model. =)

I enjoy my time fighting fish on this reel. Just be careful ur drag is not all the way loose, ur spool will go swimming. :)
