OK, disclaimer, I am in no way a fisherman, if anything I am an outdoorsman who occasionally happens to fish to eat. I don’t fish for sport. I don’t go for the biggest fish just (panfish sized) enough for that meal.
I have carried (when I could fit them in my pack/pulk/canoe, deal with the weight, or just be bothered) and used almost every type of “travel” and “survival” rod out there. This time (winter in northern Finland/Sweden/Norway) I took my Backpacker/FD150 combo and was it an eye-opener. The easiest to carry (I almost forgot I had it with me), set-up and cast (I use 1/80th ultralight jigs and soft-plastics, usually Mule Fishing or TroutMagnet on 2lb test and it was ideal for them) and whilst I’m usually successful (eventually) ‘this’ time I caught what I wanted almost first cast every time (remember this is 8ft of snow, -20, Nordic winter we’re talking about too).
I just ditched ‘all’ my other rods (hand-casters, etc.) for my trips (I may not even use them at home either). Seriously, you simply don’t need anything else!
(My Sami and Tornedalian friends think I had NASA make it for me lol, I had to tell them I don't think NASA could, and they definitely couldn't better it).

Great Customer Service and Purchase Experience
Really positive experience in purchasing my FD150 Backpacker Spinning Combo Pen Fishing Rod! The CEO was extremely helpful and honest in discussing what I wanted/needed and guided me in making the correct purchase. Shipping was immediate and i received my order the same week I ordered it. I have not actually used the pole/Rod yet but eagerly look forward to using it very soon. I can do another review once I used it but the buying experience and helpful info received from the CEO was top notch.

King of the Ultra-Lights
Incredible product that out performs many of the high end chain store combos. Fits in the bottom of my tackle box and has become my go to combo, every time I'm on the water.

If you are looking for a high quality rod that is cheaper than $100, suggested, and fairly easy to use, this is the only rod you can ever want.

The CEO is a straight up no bullshit kind of guy. I knew it right from the reviews online and from reading his warranty & directional page. I recommend penfishingrods.com to anyone who wants to deal with a company that is honest, 100% transparent & has great customer service. If you're not happy with his customer service, chances are you didn't follow the directions or company policies. I bought 45 combos for my wedding party favors and everyone was extremely happy. Be respectful & things will work out fine for you. I also suggest you read the warranty & directions before you purchase so there's no surprises after you purchase. If you're a "know it all fisherman" who can't be taught anything or you don't like to follow directions or you suck as an angler & have zero confidence & skills using micro light tackle, then these rods are not for you.
