I recently received my pen fishing rod extreme fs fly combo in the mail shipping was good product arrived intact, along with detailed instructions on the fishing rod itself. Now regularly I fish for trout with a 5 weight rod and 7 wt Cortland floating line but when I received this rod it was DEFINITELY out of my element and I had my doubts. but today I took this rod Down to Bennett Springs in Missouri and I must say I highly under estimated this rod and reel on its capabilities. within 20 minutes of me casting I was casting far beyond my expectations (almost as far as my regular rig) I had my greatest trout fishing experience today landing 2 rainbows weighing in at 2 ibs. Yes you defenitly have to finesse it and you really have to hold on because this pole being as small as it is fighting a 2 ib trout on my normal rig isn't as intense but on the FS combo IT was a blast to see the looks on others faces when I was pulling in lunkers On this ridiculously small rod that fits in your pocket WITH EASE. P.S. in the letter I got with this it plainly states don't flip the rod out like your a jedi. Well ide have to say You don't Have to fling it out like your a jedi because when you set it up and land fish you FEEL LIKE A JEDI.
